De Cartoon d’Or wordt jaarlijks uitgereikt door Cartoon, de Europese organisatie voor animatiefilm. Elk jaar kiest Cartoon de beste korte Europese animatiefilm uit de prijswinnaars van de belangrijkste animatiefilmfestivals, waaronder ANIMA. De winnaar werd ‘The Little Boy and the Beast’. Tussen de genomineerden vind je ook ‘The Gruffalo’, genomineerd voor de Oscar voor beste korte animatiefilm 2011.
